ABOUT US
The Montana Native Women's Coalition (MNWC) was incorporated with the State of Montana in 2007 and received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the IRS in 2008.
We seek to organize collective efforts by developing collaboration between native women leaders and State/Federal representatives who manage funding for sexual and domestice violence programming in Montana. An added purpose is to create social changes through the elimination of institutional, cultural and societal violence against native women and children.
OUR MISSION
To improve urban, rural, and Native American community responses to victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Collaborating to Improve Community Response
We are committed to ending violence in tribal communities by working closely with Tribal programs, representatives, and communities to raise awareness, improve access to resources, and improve communications between all systems- Tribal, State and Federal.
We serve as liaison to the Montana State Legislature, policy makers, and stakeholders to inform them of the needs of Tribal communities and needed changes for victims and their children.
